The Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter, Jitesh Sharma, has shown his confidence in the team and how far they have come in the tournament. The Bengaluru-based franchise have won three out of four matches in IPL 2025 — all in away games. This highlights the potential the team has this season.
Speaking about their upcoming clash against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Jitesh pointed out that when it comes to RCB, all the players have contributed in most of the games, whereas DC have been “relying on three players” this season.
DC currently sit at the top of the table with no defeats so far. Axar Patel has led the team exceptionally well, and this has been a dream season for them as they look to maintain their winning streak. Meanwhile, RCB have lost one home game — against the Gujarat Titans (GT) — so they must be cautious in the upcoming match.
“We have the upper hand because we have played away games and we have won the difficult games,” Jitesh said. RCB have made a strong start to IPL 2025, defeating defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their opening match at Eden Gardens before beating Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians — two powerhouses of the league — on their home turf,” Sharma said as quoted by the Hindustan Times (HT).
“Also, the batting line-up we have, everyone has chipped in. But in DC, I think they are relying on three players. So, it will be a good challenge,” he added.
IPL points table shake-up on the cards
Besides, the IPL points table might shuffle today after the game. If DC win, they’ll remain table-toppers and the only undefeated team in the tournament this year. However, if RCB clinch victory, they’ll climb the table with eight points, moving a step closer to the play-offs. With the kind of tournament it has been so far, this season might just see a brand-new winner.
