IPL 2025: Funniest Memes from RR vs GT Mid-Innings of Match 47

Hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced the mighty Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2025 match on Monday, April 28, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to field first, pointing out that there might be dew later in the evening. Yudhvir Singh Charak was included in the RR playing XI, pushing Tushar Deshpande to the Impact Substitute. Meanwhile, Sherfane Rutherford made way for Karim Janat, who made his debut for GT.

GT’s consistent opening pair, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, started the innings positively. RR introduced new bowling combinations in an attempt to break the partnership early, but the left-hand and right-hand combination dominated by smashing the bowlers all around the park.

The GT openers put up 53 runs during the powerplay and stitched together a 93-run opening stand. Sudharsan was the first wicket to fall, scoring 39 runs. The England batter Jos Buttler walked in and partnered with GT skipper Shubman Gill. They added 74 runs for the second wicket. Gill played a terrific innings, scoring 84 runs off 50 balls, which included five fours and four sixes, before being dismissed by Maheesh Theekshana.

Jos Buttler took on Wanindu Hasaranga and smashed him for 23 runs in the 15th over. Maheesh Theekshana displayed some good bowling for RR and picked up two wickets in his four-over spell, conceding 35 runs. However, Jos Buttler’s explosive batting helped GT post a commanding total of 209 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Buttler brought up his half-century on the very last ball of the innings.

Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma chipped in with a wicket each for RR. In a heartwarming moment, Sai Sudharsan claimed the Orange Cap from Jos Buttler in a beautiful gesture of sportsmanship. RR face a big challenge as they aim to chase down the large target in front of their home crowd and secure an important victory. This may eventually help them stay relevant in the race for playoff contention in IPL 2025.
