An Australian newspaper has taken a brutal dig at Indian captain Rohit Sharma, days after targeting his compatriot Virat Kohli. The Boxing Day Test match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has seen some glorious twists and turns this week and fans are waiting for some riveting action on Monday, December 30, which will be the last day of the encounter.
After India conceded a first innings lead of 105 runs on Day 4, their bowlers kept them in the match by taking wickets at regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah, who has been in top notch form in the series, took four wickets before the Tea break to put the hosts in a spot of bother at 91/6. However, India could have done more damage to their arch-rivals if Yashasvi Jaiswal had not dropped three catches.
During all the intense action on Sunday, Rohit was seen losing his temper on a few occasions as his fielders and bowlers were not being able to support Bumrah adequately. The newspaper called the 37-year-old ‘Captain Cry Baby’ on their back page. They had previously named Kohli as “Clown Kohli” after the former India skipper shoulder-bumped Sam Konstas on Day 1.
Talking about the match, India had Australia in all sorts of trouble at 91/6. However, a partnership of 57 runs between Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins helped them stretch their lead beyond the 250-run mark. Labuschagne, Mitchell Starc, and Cummins departed in quick succession as the home side slumped to 173/9. However, the last-wicket partnership between Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland frustrated the Asian giants as they added 55 runs off 110 deliveries.

At Stumps on Day 4, the Aussies were placed at 228/9, having taken their lead to 333. The Indian batters have their task cut out for them on Day 5 as they will have to show a lot of resolve to deny Australia a victory on a tricky surface.
