Brazil’s No. 7-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight contender isn’t hanging his head after his first career UFC loss.
Caio Borralho fell short in the UFC Paris main event yesterday (Sat., Sept. 7, 2025), dropping a unanimous decision to No. 1-ranked Nassourdine Imavov inside Accor Arena in Paris, France (watch highlights). The setback snapped Borralho’s impressive 16-fight win streak, which stretched all the way back to 2015.
Less than 24 hours later, “The Natural” took to social media with a powerful statement, reflecting on the journey and vowing to return stronger than ever.
“Maybe the defeat makes you forget.
Forget the struggle to get here.
From the days when no one believed.
From tiredness. Of all deliveries. And it hurts.
Perhaps the defeat makes you think that all this was in vain.
But it wasn’t.
Defeat teaches us. Reveal. Build.
I am sure that defeat will shape me more than any victory.
You learn to get up by falling. By falling is how you learn to keep going.
Because in the end, it’s not all about winning and losing. It’s on the way.

The leader of Brazil’s “Fighting Nerds” team — which also saw Mauricio Ruffy lose in the co-main event — took plenty of heat online after UFC Paris. Still, Borralho seems unfazed, framing the loss as part of the process.
Prior to Saturday, Borralho was perfect inside the Octagon with notable wins over Jared Cannonier, Paul Craig, Abus Magomedov, and Michal Oleksiejczuk, among others.
There’s no question he’ll have to work his way back into title contention, but given his resume and mindset, Borralho’s comeback campaign should be one to watch closely.
“The Natural” also took to Twitter/X saying he wants to return later this year.
